It’s become quite common in India (actually the entire world!). I used to share one with my bro, but now I got a 4GB Nano all to myself. Now you might ask me, why not a 80 GB Video, you NUT. And I’ll reply that I’m perfectly happy with the Nano, because of it’s size. I don’t have any videos as of such, and my music collection is around 2 GB only!!!
There’s not much to say about an iPod. Almost everyone has one, and everyone has definitely seen one. That’s that. The sheer elegance, the sleekness and slimness, and the pure beauty of the thing strikes you at first sight. (Sigh!). The thing is definitely not sluggish, when it comes to operation. And the USP is the clickwheel. A masterpiece of engineering, it provides a unique way of listening to your music.
And this reflects on all Apple products. They look and feel good. Real good.
Let me get into detail now:
The packaging of the thing is flawless. A peel of adhesive tape, a pop-out iPod, etc. I hold it to the light to see if it’s real or not (it was a surprise gift from my Mom). And I press a button. The bright display welcomes me for language selection. I turn the clickwheel, and it makes a delighting clicking sound. I press the centre button, and the next screen slides in to replace the next.
The next step is to put in music. Just like the iPod, iTunes is a great tool for managing music, even if you don’t own an iPod. The sound fidelity is awesome. The equalizer it gives very nicely smoothens out your different frequency ranges, not causing any distortion. You can tell iTunes to import all added music, so it can store your entire collection in one place. The auto-sync feature is useful, so you just plug it in, and it syncs any new songs.
Now, back to the muzic. The sound quality is very good, although the bundled earphones could deliver more bass punch. Although there is no custom EQ, you can choose from many other presets. The photos are a nice addition, and the quality is quite nice, even for such a small screen.
That pretty much rounds up my mini-review. My Mom got it for me from Kuwait, so I’m not sure about it’s price in India, so I’d rather not comment on the price.

Finally I found somebody that loves the Nano for it’s size. Always wanted a Nano…but my dad wasn’t convinced with it, got me a fat 30 gb instead. 30 gb is useful, but Nanos are great.
